HOLIDAY — Brandon Vinkler threw for two touchdowns and ran for one during Anclote's 28-point first quarter.
The Sharks (5-3, 4-0) remained perfect in Class 5A, District 7 and can clinch the title — and a home game in the first round of the playoffs — by beating Hudson (4-0) next week.
The Sharks outgained the Wildcats 308-6. And they dominated from the start. Their first drive lasted seven plays, covered 65 yards and was capped by Vinkler's 21-yard pass to Tymere Carter.
The Sharks defense got the offense back on the field quickly when Austin Rumer blocked a punt and recovered the ball at the Wildcats 4.
Vinkler made it 14-0 on a sneak from inside the 1, and Anclote did not let up. The defense forced another three-and-out, and Vinkler accounted for his third touchdown by connecting with Rumer from 22 yards.
The Wildcats' next play resulted in a fumble that Tymere Carter picked up and returned 6 yards to extend the lead to 28.
The Wildcats (0-8, 0-4) had just 8 yards of offense during the first half. The second half did not go any better. After receiving the kickoff, they lost a fumble at their 10 on the second play. CJ Peppe's 25-yard field goal soon after made it 31-0.
Willie Barrett, who ran for 143 yards, tacked on a 20-yard touchdown with 39 seconds left in the third.
