SEFFNER — Matt Jones scored three first-half touchdowns, and Kyle Wilcox added two in the third quarter to pace Armwood.
Josh Grady led the Hawks at quarterback with 164 yards passing and two touchdowns, plus one rushing score. Jones carried 11 times for 107 yards and Wilcox rushed eight times for 95 yards.
The Hawks jumped all over Wharton early on a pair of rushing touchdowns by Jones in the first seven minutes to take a 14-0 lead. Jones scored again on a 50-yard pass from Grady right before the half to extend the lead to 20-0.
Armwood lost wide receiver A.J. King in the second quarter to a torn ACL, a potential season-ending injury for the senior.
"I feel real bad for him," Hawks coach Sean Callahan said. "He's a great kid."
