Football: Armwood 74, Leto 0

SEFFNER — The respective records of Leto and Armwood foreshadowed a game that would more than likely be very lopsided.

That prediction came true as the Armwood blew out Leto (0-6) 74-0 Friday night.

It didn't take long for Armwood (6-0) to get on the board. On the first play from scrimmage, junior quarterback Noah Johnson connected with Talvin Bailey for a 62-yard touchdown.

The quick strikes continued throughout the first quarter. At the start of the second, Armwood led 46-0.

The Hawks had fewer than 250 yards of total offense. But that's all they needed, thanks to great field position all night. Five different Hawks scored touchdowns on their only carries of the night.

Not to be outdone, the Armwood defense came up with two turnovers and returned both for touchdowns.

After the game, coach Sean Callahan said he was proud of the way his team came to play, but was also classy in victory.

"I'm proud of the way our kids played tonight. I know we won by a lot but we're not in the business of trying to embarrass anyone; we played a lot of guys tonight," he said. "Coach (Matt) Kitchie is doing a good job with his group."
