TAMPA — Nelson Agholor ran for two touchdowns and Destin Nichols threw for two for the Bucs, who quickly dismissed any notion they was looking ahead to next week's district showdown with Tampa Catholic.
"We know what we're playing for next week, but we knew we had a tough, physical game to play first," coach Dominick Ciao said. "We came out and had a good first quarter and also played well on defense."
Berkeley (8-0) scored on its first four drives. Nichols opened the scoring with touchdowns on two of his first three throws, 44 and 24 yards to Christian Hardegree.
Agholor, who finished with 163 yards on 19 carries, scored on runs of 2 and 18 yards during the second quarter, and the rout was on.
Chris Williams added a short rushing touchdown in the third before First Academy (6-2) got two fourth-quarter touchdowns from running back Albert Settles.
Berkeley sophomore linebacker John Kastrenakes was taken to an area hospital after leaving on a stretcher due to a concussion. His status was unknown.
