The Hurricanes earned their third consecutive victory with another standout defensive performance on the road.
"We pulled off another one," Bishop McLaughlin coach Derrick Alexander said.
Santa Fe Catholic returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown, but Bishop (3-2) recovered to block the extra point.
The Hurricanes' rushing attack fueled the offense. Austin Meyers, Colton Nussel, and QB RJ Perciavalle all rushed for touchdowns. Kicker John Cummings booted a 40-yard field goal to help out.
The defense was equally impressive, holding Santa Fe Catholic to only one offensive touchdown, one week after the Hurricanes posted a shutout. Nussel, lineman Zack Lockhart and Sammy Sullivan were among the leaders of a unit that continues to improve in the Sunshine State Athletic Conference.
"Those guys are playing lights out out there right now," Alexander said.
