TAMPA — Friday's matchup between Blake and Dixie Hollins was not a time for the offenses to shine, as the Yellow Jackets won 7-3.
The only touchdown of the game came on a Blake (3-4, 2-1) interception after a forced throw deep. Marquise Kelly ran it back 85 yards for the score.
Blake quarterback Eugene Davenport was only 3-for-9 for 22 yards and two interceptions. But he would sneak by defenders and get key first downs to keep drives alive.
Late in the game Dixie Hollins (1-6, 0-3) finally started to move the ball deep into Yellow Jacket territory, but key mistakes backed the Rebels up and they could only muster a field goal.
