VALRICO — In his first career varsity game, Isaiah McIntyre was efficient and explosive. More than that though, he was perfect.
McIntyre finished 11-for-11 in the game for 140 yards and two touchdowns as Bloomingdale edged Strawberry Crest 28-27. The young quarterback added 22 yards on the ground as well, including a key first down with less than two minutes left in the game.
"You've got a 14-year-old under the lights. How is he going to perform? I didn't know," said Bloomingdale Coach John Booth. "He completely blew away any expectations that I had."
Strawberry Crest was held scoreless in the second half by a ferocious Bulls defense, and a special teams squad that blocked two field goals and an extra point.
