Boca Ciega earned its first win with a 17-0 victory over Northeast (0-3).
After a scoreless first half, the Pirates scored on a 25-yard touchdown reception by Jaire Balloon. Then Jeremiah Baxter scored on a fumble recovery to give Boca Ciega (1-2) some cushion. The Pirates caused 11 Northeast turnovers.
"Our defense played really well," Pirates coach Antez Brinson said. "Our offense is still a work in progress. But it's good for the kids' confidence to get a win like this."
