BRANDON — Brandon scored twice in a two-minute span during the fourth quarter to turn a tight game into a 27-10 win against Bloomingdale in the Eagles' final tuneup before the playoffs.
Leading 13-10, Shawn Council bulled in from 4 yards to put the Eagles (9-1) ahead by 10. After a Bulls (2-8) three-and-out, Darius Lee took the punt back 51 yards to the Bulls' 10-yard line. Two plays later, Tyrell Garner ran off left tackle for a 3-yard touchdown and a 17-point lead with 4:27 to play.
"We had too many penalties and too many mistakes tonight," Lee said. "But we had one of the greatest seasons in school history and we're looking forward to next week."
Brandon's running game was dominant. Council finished with 51, Garner 73 and Lee gained a game-high 142.
