Football: Calvary Christian 38, Indian Rocks Christian 21

LARGO — With Calvary Christian up 24-21 with 9:37 to play, versatile sophomore Jeremy Wood led the Warriors on two touchdown drives to seal a 38-21 victory over Indian Rocks Christian.

In the first half, senior quarterback Allen Barnes found Wood for a 19-yard touchdown pass to put Calvary up 14-7 in the second quarter. The Warriors led 17-14 at halftime.

"It really felt like we should have been up 17-7," Calvary coach Mark Everrett said. "I didn't want them to get complacent, so I got on them hard."

Barnes left with cramps in the third quarter and Wood moved from receiver to quarterback, throwing for one TD and running for another. Golden Eagles freshman Zeke McGaughy carried 16 times for 188 yards and two TDs.
