HUDSON — Central went into Friday's game against Fivay looking for its first win. Led by a slew of seniors, the Bears kept the Falcons off the scoreboard with a 30-0 win.
Senior quarterback Josh Burkhardt helped lead the charge. He completed six of his first eight passes and rushed for Central's first touchdown from 2 yards out.
The Bears held Fivay (0-1) to a total of 39 yards on its first three possessions. Central took a 9-0 lead when Aaron Arevalo came up with a sack that resulted in a safety. DeAntre Jackson returned the ensuing kick 50 yards to give the Bears (1-2) excellent field position. Burkhardt hit Jackson for a 15-yard score and the Bears went up 16-0 at the half.
Central's Charlie Stanley had a 17-yard touchdown run in the second half. He led the Bears with 118 yards on 18 carries.
