Football: Countryside 49, Seminole 9

SEMINOLE — Countryside rebounded from last week's loss to Largo with a 49-9 victory at Seminole on Friday night.

Countryside got on the board immediately with a 31-yard touchdown run by Mike Jerrido. Seminole quickly responded with a 69-yard TD run by Ra'Quanne Dickens to tie.

On Countryside's following possession Mike Flory scored from 1 yard out to give the Cougars a 14-7 lead they never relinquished. Countryside's special teams got into the act, blocking a Seminole punt that was recovered by Tyler Serpo in the end zone. Flory and Ryan Yates added 8-yard TD runs for a 35-7 halftime lead.

"We needed to play again, get that taste out of our mouth. Getting back on the grass again was huge," Countryside coach Jared Davis said.
