RIVERVIEW — The Falcons stopped a two-point conversion with 5:27 left then scored an insurance touchdown.
Aaron Hayes made it 14-13 with a 2-yard run. But Dunedin stuffed junior running back Andrew Henry at the line of scrimmage. On the ensuing possession, Mack Benson hit Tramaine Batten for a 46-yard score.
The Falcons' run-first offense overmatched Spoto. Batten and Shaquille Dixon combined for 19 carries and 117 yards. Batten added two catches for 54 yards and the touchdown.
"The coach just put the ball in the best players' hands," Batten said. "(Dixon) brings an extra electric shock to us."
Despite winning, Dunedin had difficulty on special teams. It lost two muffed punts, each resulting in a Spoto score. Hayes, 5-of-13 passing, also scored on a 3-yard run.
