TAMPA — Dunedin came out victorious Friday night, defeating Middleton 29-20.
Despite tallying fewer total yards than their opponent, the Falcons' strong running game led by junior Tremaine Batten proved to be the deciding factor. Batten found the end zone three times on his 15 carries for 128 yards.
"The line did it all and I just followed their lead," Batten said. "We all stuck together as a team tonight and got the job done."
The Falcons (3-5, 3-4) compiled a total of 285 overall yards. Senior quarter back Anthony Diviney threw for 51 yards and recorded a touchdown in the first half.
Middleton (0-8, 0-7), which had 293 yards, could not find momentum and struggled with its air attack.
Middleton junior Richard Benjamin ran for two touchdowns for 82 yards and also caught six catches for 134 yards and a touchdown.
