BRANDON — Durant's defense dominated and its offense moved the ball at will as the Cougars remained undefeated, blanking Brandon 36-0 on Friday.
The Cougars (3-0) pitched their second shutout in a row and have given up just seven points this season. Friday, Durant held Brandon to 122 yards and didn't allow the Eagles past midfield until 1:16 remained in the game.
"Our defense is a little dinged up and to have played like that again, it's a good thing," Durant coach Mike Gottman said.
Durant sophomore Chris Atkins rushed for 125 yards on 12 carries and scored two touchdowns. Teammate Jamarlon Hamilton had 66 yards and a score.
"Our offensive line does all the work, and we couldn't do it without them," Atkins said.
