PLANT CITY — Je'Twan Smith rushed for four touchdowns in the final game of his high school career to lead Durant to a 42-7 victory over Strawberry Crest (5-4).
Durant's quarterback led all rushers with 14 carriers for 128 yards.
"It feels so good to play your best, especially on senior night," Smith said. "It feels good to leave my fans with something to remember about No. 3."
Durant (5-4) raced out to an early lead, overcoming a fumble on its first offensive play. After Jarvis Scott intercepted a Trey Vandergrift pass on the ensuing possession to take away Strawberry Crest's momentum, Smith scored his first touchdown with 6:26 left in the first quarter.
The Cougars' defense harassed three Charger quarterbacks and allowed just three first downs.
