DURANT — Durant's defense and running game shined as the Cougars scored seven rushing touchdowns and shut out Riverview 49-0

Quarterback Je'Twan Smith struck early with two touchdowns in the first quarter, and running back Jarmarlon Hamilton added another, giving Durant (4-2, 2-0) a 22-0 lead going into halftime.

Hamilton kept it rolling the second half, rushing for 71 yards and two more scores. Smith and Hamilton totaled 215 yards and five touchdowns, Hamilton with 121 yards and three TDs and Smith adding 94 yards and two TDs.

Durant's defense forced three turnovers and didn't allow the Sharks (0-6, 0-1) past the 35-yard line. Defensive back Andre Davis intercepted a pass when it looked like the Sharks were driving three minutes before the half.
