Football: Freedom 35, Lennard 24

TAMPA — Freedom overcame a 10-point halftime deficit in its finale. Lennard (5-5) ran effectively, but in the fourth quarter found its offense stifled by a combination of the revived Freedom defense and penalties.

"I've been telling our guys all week that they can't get this one back," Freedom coach Tchecoy Blount said. "They all played that way, especially our seniors."

Patriots quarterback Dominic Marino ran for 86 yards on six carries in the second half including a 36-yard touchdown to give the Patriots (4-6) a 28-24 lead.

"I just told him to keep his head and that this was his last game," Blount said. "We don't know if there is an all-star game in his future so this was the last time he'd take the field as a high school quarterback and he made the most of it."
