Gaither 20, Steinbrenner 7: Gaither quarterback Shug Oyegunle scored all three Gaither touchdowns — two in the air — to lead the Cowboys (1-1), who matched their victory total from last season. Steinbrenner (0-1), a second-year program, still seeks its inaugural win against a non-first-year school. Vero Beach St. Edward’s 28, Carrollwood Day 6: At Vero Beach, Carrollwood Day (2-1) committed four turnovers and amassed nearly 200 yards in penalties in its second East Coast trip this season. The Patriots drove 67 yards to take an early 6-0 lead and self-destructed from there.
