Football: King 13, Freedom 12

TAMPA — Greg Windham went 13-for-31 for 116 yards and two touchdowns and led King 40 yards on the winning drive, capped by a 26-yard touchdown pass to Reese Sturgis with 1:45 remaining.

The point after was good for the winning margin; the other three PATs in the game were blocked.

King won despite committing 100 yards' worth of penalties.

But the Lions defense allowed only 272 yards and caused an interception to end the game.

The Lions only had 86 rushing yards, made it harder for Windham to cope with the Freedom defense.

Freedom's last-ditch effort to score ended when Dominic Marino's pass was bobbled and intercepted by the Lions.
