CLEARWATER — Calvary Christian (1-5, 0-4) kept within striking distance for three quarters Friday but a 22-point fourth quarter by Lakeland Victory Christian (6-0, 3-0) helped wear down the Warriors, who fell 43-14.

The Warriors were led by sophomore quarterback Allen Barnes, who had 14 rushes for 142 yards. He was 5-of-8 for 67 yards and a touchdown to Stephen Rice.

The Warriors defense also played well. Barnes had numerous pass breakups from the linebacker spot and a fumble recovery. He received help from junior linebacker Matt Ankrom, who recorded a sack of Demeitre Brim.

The Storm was led by Brim, who had eight rushes for 117 yards and two early touchdowns. He was 7 of 14 passing for 133 yards and a touchdown to junior wide receiver Michael Morgan.
