Football: Lakeland Victory Christian 43, Cambridge 11

LAKELAND — It wasn't the prettiest win, but Lakeland Victory Christian will take it.

After clinching a district title last Friday, the Storm secured an undefeated season by defeating Cambridge.

Quarterback Demeitre Brim and running back Sa'Vaunn Bond carried Victory Christian, combining for 295 yards on 26 carries (Bond had 11 carries for 152 yards, Brim 15 for 143 yards).

Bond's 62-yard scamper in the third quarter gave Victory Christian a 14-3. Then Brim connected with wide receiver Zeb Stanley for a 27-yard touchdown with nine minutes remaining in the game, and the Storm pulled away.

"We started slow, but we ended up okay," Victory Christian coach Jeff Schaum said.
