ST. PETERSBURG — In a game marred by 25 combined penalties, Lakewood used a late fumble to engineer the winning drive, beating Seminole 28-21.
Lakewood quarterback Tracy Johnson had a rough first half, overthrowing many receivers and throwing one interception, but he bounced back at the end of the first half into the second with three passing touchdowns. He also had a rushing touchdown.
His favorite target, Rodney Adams, chipped in four receptions for 88 yards and the winning touchdown catch. Lakewood's defense was led by FSU commit Dante Fowler, who was in on several tackles and had one sack.
Seminole was led by the running back duo of Brandon Trezza (13 rushes, 68 yards, TD) and Trevor Ralph (11 for 39 yards, TD).
