TAMPA — It came down to who had the ball last in Lennard's 28-21 win over King at Bill Stewart Stadium and the winning score was set up by Anthony Nelson's 22-yard, fourth-quarter interception return.

Key drives: Lennard (2-0) needed just nine plays after the pick from King's 26 — all Jahryn Bailey runs — and ran the final 4:20 off the clock. The Longhorns capped off the drive with Bailey's 1-yard plunge with 21 seconds to play. The Longhorns tied it with 6:28 to go in the third quarter on Bailey's 30-yard scamper on the first play after they recovered a King fumble.

Stars of the game: Bailey ended up with 213 yards on 34 attempts, including 122 yards on 18 carries in the first half. Otis Williams had 75 yards on seven runs in the first half and finished with 17 runs for 116 yards for King (1-2).

Stat of the game: Matthew Richards blocked an extra point and Antonio Lee recovered a fumble for the Lions. Lennard's Devin Black ran in a 2-point conversion.

Final word: "He (Bailey) has been sitting behind two seniors for the past two years and is a junior now and we told him time and time again that it's his job now. Instead of five or six carries a game, he's going to get 20 to 30. He's just a horse. We have a big offensive line, but he's the guy." Lennard coach Keith Chattin
