TAMPA — Friday night's regular-season home opener at Leto was a relatively low-scoring affair in the first half before the Tigers pulled away for the 19-7 victory.
Key drive: After a third-quarter 79-yard TD reception thrown by Middleton QB Cyrus Wade to wideout Alfonso Wooten, gave the Tigers a 13-7 lead, Leto fumbled away the ensuing kickoff.
Stars of the game: Wade overcame two interceptions to complete 7-of-11 for 151 yards and the touchdown. Tigers RB Joshua Battles also ran well with 11 carries for 90 yards and two scores. … For the Leto defense, Caleb Harding tallied a pair of tackles, one for a loss, and an interception.
Stat of the Game: With 16 penalties between both teams, neither was able to capitalize on decent field position and they combined for eight turnovers.
