LITHIA — Newsome (3-3) captured its third victory in a row, defeating Brandon (0-5) 35-13 on Friday night.
The Wolves were led by quarterback Will Worth as he controlled the rushing game, scoring TDs of 80 and 18 yards, respectively, in the second quarter.
With a 21-6 halftime lead for Newsome, the Wolves defense pounced on Brandon, holding it to 0 passing yards in the second half. The Wolves rushing game was also the answer Friday as the squad rushed for four TDs on 45 rushes for 287 yards.
"Our defense played tremendous tonight," said Newsome coach Ken Hiscock. "We have to cut down on the penalties but I'm happy with a lot of our players' performances tonight."
Worth finished with 173 rushing yards on 23 carries.
