ST. PETERSBURG — A fight broke out between Pinellas Park and Dixie Hollins with just less than six minutes to play, forcing officials to call the game early with the Patriots winning.
Dixie Hollins (2-8) was trying to come back when Keven Hubbard was sacked for a 9-yard loss on first down. After the play, Rebels senior Andrew Corrigan and Pinellas Park's Jaquan Clark started fighting in the backfield. Within seconds, players from both teams rushed to join the growing crowd as Corrigan and Clark were taken off the field by teammates. Officials promptly called the game.
Brandon Hames threw three touchdowns and Michael Smith rushed for 159 yards and two scores on 21 carries for the Patriots (5-5). Hubbard completed 9-of-16 for the Rebels, throwing two TDs.
