Football: Sickles 10, Steinbrenner 0

LUTZ — Senior running back LaDondra Crittenden scored the only touchdown and rushed for 111 yards on 12 carries to lead Sickles past Steinbrenner 10-0.

Crittenden's 66-yard scoring run came on Sickles' second series. Andres Vasquez hit a 33-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter, culminating a 15-play, 43-yard drive that included a conversion on fourth and 1 at the Sickles 40.

Sickles had 202 yards rushing on 40 attempts. Jakaraius Crittenden and Jordan Robinson had interceptions for the Gryphons. In the second quarter, the Warriors drove 76 yards, but Jess Weatherman missed a 28-yard field goal.

Sickles committed 11 penalties for 79 yards, the most costly one a first-quarter holding call that nullified what would have been a 48-yard scoring strike from Nate Mills to Bilal Salat. Jake Carroll led Steinbrenner with 123 yards total offense (63 rushing, 60 receiving).
