ST. PETERSBURG — Spoto quarterback Nick Addison connected with Tyron Baker for 230 yards, four touchdowns and a two-point conversion Friday, leading the Spartans to a 54-0 win. Addison had 267 yards passing total.

The Spartans' opening drive resulted in a fourth-down pass that failed on Dixie's 8-yard line. They didn't falter much after that. Addison and Baker scored on three consecutive drives in the first half. Defensively, Spoto nullified the Rebels' passing game and kept their running game to a minimum at just 134 yards for 38 carries. They also blocked two punts on mishandled snaps by Dixie.

"We have lots of speed offensively and defensively," said Spoto coach Dale Caparaso. "We're not a big team, but we've got a lot of skilled kids who can run."
