ST. PETERSBURG — It took almost an entire half but St. Petersburg (3-0) broke through Dixie Hollins' defense for five touchdowns en route to a 34-0 win Thursday night.
Dixie Hollins (1-2) held the Green Devils scoreless until five minutes before the half. Facing a fourth-and-1, Dixie Hollins quarterback David Jones took the ball 5 yards to the Rebels' 35-yard line. The next play Jones scrambled 35 yards for a score. He later found Marquel Davis in the end zone for a 26-yard touchdown.
Running back Calvin Robinson scored just before the half on an 8-yard run, and added his second, a 75-yard dash, at the close of the third quarter, bringing the score to 28-0. Robinson finished with 146 yards on 10 carries. He split the work with Rashad Lewis, who gained 137 yards on 14 rushes, including a 10-yard touchdown.
