ST. PETERSBURG — St. Petersburg Catholic coach Tod Creneti knew his team had some weapons, and the first two times the Barons touched the ball they scored touchdowns en route to a 43-7 win over Northside Christian.
Todd Macon took the first handoff 56 yards for a score and Ryan Green followed with a 59-yard run.
"We have a bunch of guys who are very committed to helping each other get theirs," Creneti said.
The Barons scored 21 in the second quarter. Green scored on runs of 4 and 45 yards, and Jacob Zinge added a 21-yard run.
Green finished with 110 yards and three touchdowns; Macon had 91 and Zinge with 90. Kevin Krueger made a 47-yard field goal.
The Mustangs' score came on a 61-yard pass from Jimmy Van Deilen to Roe Wright.
