Football: Sunlake 30, Anclote 8

HOLIDAY — Sunlake, led by 309 rushing yards, ran past Anclote 30-8 Friday.

The Seahawks (4-0) were led by senior quarterback Jacob Jackson's 105 yards on the ground, which included a 70-yard touchdown with 3:34 left in the game. Junior running back Rashaud Daniels added 167 yards on the ground, along with one touchdown.

Sunlake's opening drive, which started on Anclote's 39-yard line, began with Jackson's 39-yard pass to Daniels. Three plays later, Daniels ran in from 12 yards out for a 7-0 lead.

Anclote (1-4), meanwhile, had some problems on offense. Sophomore quarterback John Forgione struggled with several high snaps from center, leading to four fumbles, one of which was recovered by Sunlake. The snap went over Forgione's head and landed into the end zone. Sunlake defensive lineman Chason Connell recovered it for the touchdown and a 17-0 Sunlake lead at the start of the third quarter.

Anclote was able to get on the scoreboard with a 45-yard touchdown run by Travis Hendrix, who finished with 94 yards on 11 carries.
