Football: Tampa Catholic 30, Cardinal Mooney 6

TAMPA — Tampa Catholic celebrated homecoming with an emphatic victory over Sarasota Cardinal Mooney.

The Crusaders' running game put them in the driver's seat in the second quarter as running back Hunter Joyer broke off three touchdowns in seven minutes.

"The offensive line did a great job, and it seemed like every time a hole opened up there was nothing but green grass in front of me," Joyer said. "I've never had this many touchdowns in one game before."

Cardinal Mooney did its best to keep it interesting by scoring before the half but the Tampa Catholic (3-4) running game ate up the clock.

Joyer finished with 113 yards and three touchdowns while teammate Jordan Rich-Rogers racked up 110 yards on eight carries.
