ZEPHYRHILLS — Both out of postseason contention, Wesley Chapel and Zephyrhills squared off for bragging rights Friday night, with the Wildcats winning 29-11.
The Wildcats (3-5) ruined Zephyrhills' homecoming night with success on the ground, as Dimon Bagwell ran for 64 yards and a touchdown, and Devin Piper added 53 yards and a touchdown.
The only Zephyrhills (0-8) touchdown was a 29-yard rush by quarterback Chris Reaves, who took most of the snaps in the second half and went 7-for-21 for 72 yards.
The Wesley Chapel defense proved to be too much for the Bulldogs as well. Not only did the Wildcats return an interception, but they also forced a safety and kept Zephyrhills to just one field goal before the final touchdown.
