NEW PORT RICHEY — Wesley Chapel scored all of its points in the first half Friday night, which turned out to be just enough to hold off Ridgewood 38-33.
Jordan Primus scored twice for the Wildcats (2-4, 1-3), and Daquan Caesar's 69-yard touchdown run was a highlight of the first half. Ridgewood's Tyler Vito scored twice before halftime to keep the Rams in contention, 38-20.
Ridgewood (1-6, 1-3) came out with an impressive drive in the third quarter, with Will Fulmer hitting an open Brandon Green for a 65-yard TD reception. The quarter was all Rams when Vito scored again for the final margin.
The momentum continued when the defense stopped the Wildcats on fourth down. With the fans believing a comeback was about to happen, Wesley Chapel's Mark LaBarbera intercepted Fulmer to secure the win.
