Cowboys, Warriors to resume play Monday
LUTZ — Gaither and host Steinbrenner will resume their Class 7A, District 7 game at 7 p.m. Monday after it was stopped by lightning and rain Friday night.
The officials sent both teams off the field because of lightning with 2:14 remaining in the first quarter. The decision to play Monday was made after a delay of nearly one hour with heavy rain.
Gaither (3-1, 1-0) holds an 8-0 lead. The Cowboys scored on their first series as Josh Bell ran 44 yards into the end zone. Bell threw a pass to Marcus Brown for the two-point conversion. Steinbrenner (1-3, 0-1) punted on its three series.
