Hillsborough 55, East Bay 13

TAMPA — Led by Tarean Austin's arm and Terrence Mitchell's blocked kicks, Hillsborough routed East Bay 55-13 in the Class 4A, District 9 opener. Hillsborough (4-1) has outscored opponents 219-36 in winning four in a row. East Bay (3-3) has lost three of four.

The Terriers pulled away in the third with 27 points, including a 79-yard punt return by Charles Lovett and Mitchell's blocked field goal returned 55 yards by Gerald Pearson. Mitchell also blocked a punt.

Austin finished with 174 yards passing and three touchdowns.Aaron Mills led East Bay with 67 yards rushing and ran and passed for touchdowns.

"We're happy with the performance. We've had the flu run through the team," Hillsborough coach Earl Garcia said. "So to come and play well on defense and special teams is good."
