LARGO — Indian Rocks Christian came from behind, scoring the winning touchdown late for its first district victory this season.

"Both teams were pretty evenly matched," IRC coach Mark Buchanan said. "Our players showed a lot of heart.”

Down 3-0, the Golden Eagles got on the board with an 11-yard touchdown from senior quarterback Blake Farver to senior wide receiver Tyler Ostheim in the second quarter. Ostheim also scored a rushing touchdown before the end of the first half, making the score 14-3.

The Vikings scored one touchdown in the third quarter and one in the fourth and stopped the Golden Eagles on a fourth down.

But after a Vikings' fumble with 2:24 left, the Golden Eagles drove 70 yards for the winning touchdown, Farver's 20-yard pass to Ostheim.

RF Steven Souza is always, shall we say, entertaining. In the second, he made an impressive running, leaping catch. In the seventh, he made either the worst dive for a ball a good 15 feet away or was trying for the best deke. In the eighth, he hit a massive homer.
