ST. PETERSBURG — The Jefferson Dragons (6-1, 4-0) were flagged for a penalty on their first play. That was their only mistake on offense as they rolled to a 63-3 victory over Dixie Hollins (0-8, 0-4) to win the district championship.
"We have been to the playoffs 11 years in a row and we have had to travel the last few times," Dragons coach Mike Fenton said. "It's nice to come home and get to play."
Quentin Williams threw four touchdowns, two to Chris Moore and one each to Andre Davis and Adrian Jenkins.
Rashad Dunningan added a 70-yard punt return, and Demetrius Russel ran for a score.
"This (district championship) comes from hard work," Williams said. "After the spring game a lot of people doubted us but we worked for it all summer."
