Lakewood 48, Osceola 14

ST. PETERSBURG — A stampede of scoring led Lakewood over Osceola 48-14.

Jermiel Douse gashed the Osceola defense for touchdowns of 83 and 24 yards, giving the Spartans an early lead. Douse added a touchdown pass to Bernard Reedy as Lakewood scored three times on its first eight plays en route to a 21-6 first-quarter lead.

For Osceola, Edwin McKinney carried 18 times for 182 yards in the first half. His 2-yard touchdown run closed the halftime gap to 21-14.

In the second half, Lakewood scored twice before Osceola ran a play. Douse threw another touchdown pass, and Reedy bullied in for a 5-yard score. Byronton Jackson contributed four carries for 48 yards and two touchdowns.
