TAMPA — The Wolves (3-2) used a steady rushing attack, outstanding kicking game and a dominant defense to blank the Knights (1-4).
Connor Powers wore down the Knights defense, putting the game away with a 29-yard run to set up his second touchdown. Three of Newsome's drives lasted more than 10 plays to keep the Knights offense on the sideline.
"For the most part, we played all three phases of the game," Newsome coach Ken Hiscock said. "We just wanted to turn this ship around and get back on to our winning ways."
With only three points in the first half, establishing field position was critical. Kicking from his own 25, Newsome punter Kyle Copack boomed a kick more then 50 yards and a misplay by Robinson allowed an additional 25 yards to pin Robinson on its own 6.
The Knights managed only 107 yards.
