SEMINOLE — Northeast's defense recorded six sacks, three interceptions, forced two fumbles, recovering one, and held Seminole to 35 total yards.

On offense for the Vikings, it was pretty much turn and hand off to one of three talented runners. Senior Daryl Copeland ran for 163 yards on 10 carries with touchdown runs of 25 and 45 yards. Juniors Jovonte Brinson and Tavares Dunlap weren't bad. Brinson had three TDs and 48 yards on seven carries; Dunlap two TDs and 116 yards on four tries.

"Coach (Jay Austin) stressed to us to have a stronger start and an even stronger finish," said Copeland, whose team got its first win in Class 5A-9 play. "Northeast has always produced a lot of running backs, and we're just continuing the string. It's pretty fun to be a part of."
