TAMPA — Plant quarterback Phillip Ely had 193 yards passing and three touchdowns in the first half to help the Panthers blow out Gaither in a district game. All 49 points came in the first half, as receiver Allen Sampson caught touchdowns of 65 and 41 yards.

Plant got on the scoreboard early and often, scoring on its first possession on a 30-yard pass from Ely to DeAndre Queen. Two possession later, senior T.J. Glover scored on a 22-yard run.

Plant's defense and special teams also did a number on Gaither, as the Panthers scored touchdowns on a 5-yard fumble recovery by David McCarthy and a 34-yard punt return for a touchdown by Glover. Glover also caught a 5-yard touchdown.

Plant didn't punt in the game. The Cowboys managed just two first downs.
