Preseason football: Brandon 27, Riverview 0

RIVERVIEW — The Eagles kept to the ground and outscored Riverview in a rain-shortened game.

Shawn Council began the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown dive early in the second quarter. In the final 4:10 of the half, the Eagles added three more touchdowns on Tyrell Garner's 40-yard run, Darius Lee's 20-yard run and a 10-yard scamper by quarterback Josh Celerin right before halftime.

Garner finished with 87 rushing yards on 11 carries.

Brandon's defense was not to be over shadowed. The Eagles held the Sharks to 15 total yards of offense and two first downs.

The lone bright spot for the Sharks came on Brandon's opening drive. The Eagles took the ball down to the Riverview 3-yard line, but the Sharks defense held, then blocked a 25-yard field goal attempt.

The beginning of the game was delayed thirty minutes, then officials called it at the half because of lightning.
