DURANT — The host Cougars ran away with the preseason victory 44-6 Friday night. The Durant offense was balanced in scoring, with four passing touchdowns and three rushing. The Cougars can take momentum into its season opener with Jesuit, a state semifinalist a year ago.

Key plays: To end the first half and go up 18-0, Durant senior quarterback Carlton Potter rolled right and hit freshman Agiye Hall from 78 yards out.

Key drive: The first drive of the season for the Cougars ended in a touchdown as Potter connected with Hall for a 24-yard score, capping a 13-play drive.

Star of the game: Hall, 14, definitely made his presence known. He finished with three receiving touchdowns from 24, 78 and 33 yards.

Final word: "Coming into tonight I didn't think I would get playing time but I told myself any chance I get just take it." — Hall
