TAMPA — Lightning forced a cancellation between Tampa Catholic and Gaither with just under three minutes left in the first quarter on Friday night.

The Cowboys got the 14-13 win as the game was called prior to Tampa Catholic's extra-point attempt.

Prior to the initial delay, the Crusaders' Bentlee Sanders did his best Devin Hester impression, juking his way down the right sideline for a 74-yard kickoff return touchdown.

Gaither opened the game with an impress five-play, 77-yard drive capped by a 9-yard touchdown reception from running back TJ Williams. Williams accounted for all 77 yards on the drive and had 144 total yards from scrimmage on only 10 touches.

The Crusaders responded with a nice drive of their own, capped by a 5-yard touchdown run from Devan Barrett.

Gaither, however, went right back to the ground as Williams racked up 67 yards on three carries. His 50-yard touchdown put them ahead 14-13.

Tampa Catholic coach Mike Gregory said prior to hopping on the team bus that it was "good to get stuff on film." Both the Cowboys and Crusaders did that in the limited action.
