TAMPA — In a game that was over before it began, Robinson rolled over first-year Steinbrenner as the Knights clinched their first district title since 1977. Robinson (7-1, 5-0) was up 50-0 by halftime.
When asked what he said to his team at the half, Robinson coach Mike DePue said: "I didn't tell them a thing. We've been geared up for a win like this for a long time."
Blake Rice threw touchdowns of 51 and 23 yards to Frankie Williams in the first half. Rice was 6-of-10 for 191 yards and four touchdowns. J.J. Hubbard and Andrew Meddaugh rushed for touchdowns while Alex Call and Darrius Hudson returned interceptions for touchdowns.
Kendall Pearcy led Steinbrenner (1-6, 0-6) with 21 yards rushing. Christian Carriere went 3-for-5 with 22 yards passing.
