Spring game-breakers: Despite having to replace its starting quarterback, a playing receiver and three offensive lineman, East Lake's offense piled on the points against Osceola in a spring game for the third straight season. … The Eagles used three quarterbacks — Bobby Goldinak, Leland Johansen and Tyler Rupe — who were a combined 14-of-18 for 276 yards and four touchdowns. … Their favorite target was Bryce Miller, who had seven catches for 207 yards and three touchdowns. … East Lake also was effective on the ground, led by Xavier Jackson's 90 yards rushing on six carries and two scores. Jackson also returned the opening kickoff in the second half 98 yards for a touchdown. … Osceola running back Travis Wateska, who transferred from Seminole in the offseason, ran for 131 yards on 17 carries and a touchdown. … Teammate Nick Shytle had 67 yards rushing on eight carries and two scores.

Did you know? East Lake receivers have a penchant for coming through with big games against Osceola in the spring. Two years ago Artavis Scott, now a rising sophomore at Clemson, had four touchdowns against the Warriors in the first half (two receiving, two on returns). Last year, it was George Campbell's turn. The five-star recruit, now a freshman at FSU, had five catches for 106 yards and two scores against Osceola. Miller, who takes over as the top receiver, topped them all Friday with his 207 yards. … The score was 48-28 in the three quarters that the varsity teams played. The junior varsity played in the fourth. … Eagles coach Bob Hudson said he will not name a starting quarterback until August.
