Spring game-breakers: After going 1-9 last season, the Buccaneers got off to strong start under second-year coach Jason Messamore by relying on a strong run game and an opportunistic defense. …Malik Cobb ran 20 yards for a touchdown to give Gulf a 7-0 lead. …Deandre Hopkins returned an interception 70 yards to make it 14-0. …Weeki's lone score came on a 47-yard run by Shawn O'Gorman. …Gulf's Ja'Marquise Stewart ran 15 yards for touchdown to round out the scoring. …The Bucs had a touchdown run and an interception return for a score called back on penalties.
