Seminole 41, Dunedin 6

Spring game-breakers: Seminole wide receiver/cornerback Lakendrick Staley had the biggest impact, but the entire Warhawk roster had too much talent for a depleted Falcons squad. Staley made all of the big plays in the big victory, corralling a nice Andrew Schaedler spot pass for a 17-yard touchdown. Then he stopped Dunedin's next two possessions with interceptions. Staley finished with 85 all-purpose yards. …Schaedler (8-of-14, 135 yards), a rising junior, looked poised in the pocket, connecting on a 50-yarder to speedster Ethan Roberts, who booted three PATs and added a sparkling 53-yard punt return of his own to set up Seminole's last score. …Rising junior Demarvin Gary stepped up from the Warhawks' unbeaten fall JV squad to rip off a pair of touchdown runs, carrying 10 times for a team-high 70 yards. …Brody Hassel's 36-yard pick-six and Tajh Martin's 17-yard TD dash completed Seminole's scoring. …When Dunedin's receivers get used to Tyler Palermiti's throws, look out. The strong-armed sophomore suffered some tough drops on a 9-of-27 night, but made some nice pass/run decisions and hit tightly-covered receivers like Micah Williams (four catches, 55 yards) on target.

Did you know? Alfred Hitchcock would have enjoyed Thursday's game as dozens of seagulls covered Dunedin's home field from start to finish. Rather than escape the thundering players, the birds did fly-overs that must have messed with their heads a bit.

Audible 1: "With Chris (Garza-McLean), Tajh and Demarvin, we have three really good running backs, a three-headed monster. We'll be able to rotate them and stay fresh and productive." — Seminole coach Chris Miller on a running game that went off for 208 yards and three TDs

Audible 2: "The biggest thing I've worked on this spring is to be a leader. We have a lot of young guys and I want them get in here and work hard every day, learn that we're never bigger than the game." — senior-to-be Staley
